Your choice: you can turn off Usage analytics in Grandmind Settings and keep playing.
Your progress and preferences
You can play without creating a Grandmind account. The app keeps your game history, answers counted as right or wrong, reaction times where a game uses them, bests, streak and preferences on your device. These records let the app show your progress and remember how you like to play. They are game records, not a medical assessment.
If iCloud sync is on, Grandmind also stores progress in Apple's iCloud key-value service so devices using the same Apple Account can share progress. This option is on by default and can be turned off in Settings. Apple operates iCloud under Apple's privacy policy.
Usage analytics
Grandmind uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand which parts of the app people use and where they leave. Usage analytics is on by default. You can turn it off at Settings → Privacy → Usage analytics. Playing games does not depend on sharing analytics.
Our custom events describe onboarding pages, screens and tabs, selected games, whether a try starts or ends, accepted move counts, active play time, pauses, retries, settings changes, reminder opens and Pro purchase or restore outcomes. An unfinished onboarding or game flow may be reported on the next launch; this does not tell us whether you closed the app, it crashed or iOS ended the process.
We do not put your name, email, Game Center identity, scores, accuracy, reaction-time history, answers, feedback text or notification content into these custom events. A random attempt identifier separates one onboarding attempt or game try from another. We do not set an analytics user ID.
The Firebase SDK also processes app-instance identifiers and technical information such as app version, device and operating-system information, sessions and supported automatically collected events, including purchase activity where supported. Google Analytics can infer an approximate country, region or city from a network address. Grandmind does not request GPS location for analytics. This information is not completely anonymous, even though we do not attach your name.
We use analytics to improve the app, not for personalized advertising. The app's analytics configuration disables advertising storage, ad-user data, ad personalization, advertising-identifier support and vendor-identifier collection. We do not sell personal information.
When you turn Usage analytics off, Grandmind stops custom events, disables Firebase collection, resets the SDK's local analytics data and clears local unfinished-flow checkpoints. This choice applies to that device and survives relaunch. Turning it on again starts future collection; it does not upload your saved game history. Turning it off does not, by itself, delete analytics already received by Google.
Google operates Analytics under its own terms and privacy practices. Read Google's privacy policy, Firebase privacy information and Google Analytics privacy controls.
Game Center and leaderboards
Game Center is provided by Apple. If you sign in, Grandmind can read leaderboard entries, including player display names, ranks and scores, to show the board. The Post scores to leaderboards setting is on by default; when enabled and Game Center is available, completed game scores can be submitted to Apple's leaderboards. Other players may see your Game Center name and leaderboard score according to your Game Center settings.
You can turn score posting off in Grandmind Settings and manage your Game Center account through Apple. Turning it off prevents new game results from being added to the upload queue. Results already queued while posting was on may still be sent when Game Center next connects; the switch does not erase those queued results or scores already on Apple's service. We do not send Game Center names or player identifiers to our custom analytics.
Pro purchases
Apple handles payment and billing for Grandmind Pro. Grandmind uses StoreKit purchase and entitlement information to unlock Pro and show your plan, renewal or trial status. We do not receive your full payment-card details. Purchase and restore actions may also appear in usage analytics as described above, without payment-card or Apple Account details supplied by our custom events.
See Apple's privacy policy for information about App Store purchases.
Reminders, sharing and feedback
Reminders are scheduled locally on your device after iOS grants permission. Grandmind does not use a remote push-notification service for these reminders. You can change reminder switches in the app and notification permission in iOS Settings. When analytics is enabled, we can record the permission request's result and which kind of app reminder you open; we do not send its text or your exact chosen reminder time.
Sharing opens the system share flow with the content you choose to share. Its recipient and destination are your choice. Analytics records a request to open sharing, not your contacts, recipients or a copy of the shared image.
If you email us, we receive the email address and information you choose to include. The app's feedback draft includes app version, device model and iOS version to help us understand an issue; you can edit it before sending. Please leave out medical information or other sensitive details you do not want to share. We use correspondence to answer you and support the app, not to attach your email to analytics.
These website pages
These Privacy and Terms pages are served by Firebase Hosting. They contain no analytics scripts, advertising, forms or tracking cookies added by us. Fonts are served from this site rather than a third-party font service.
Google receives technical request information, including your IP address, to serve the pages and prevent abuse. Firebase states that Hosting keeps IP-address data for a few months. See Firebase's privacy information. Following an external link takes you to that provider's site and privacy practices.
Keeping and removing information
Local progress remains until you reset it, remove the app's local data or change it through normal use. Settings → Reset statistics clears progress on that device. It does not clear Game Center scores. If iCloud sync stays on, progress kept by another device can be brought back; turning sync off does not delete existing iCloud copies. Manage Apple-held data through your Apple Account and Apple's available controls.
Analytics is subject to Google Analytics' configured retention and deletion controls; aggregated reports may be retained separately from individual event data. Email correspondence is kept while needed to answer requests, provide support and meet applicable obligations. We do not promise that turning off analytics or resetting statistics erases information from every service or backup immediately.
Contact us to ask about access, correction, deletion, retention or other privacy rights available where you live. We do not tie app-instance analytics identifiers to your email, so we may need additional information to locate a particular record. Please do not send a password or payment-card information. You may also raise a concern with your local data-protection authority where applicable.
Providers, security and international processing
Information is handled by the services needed for the features described here, including Apple, Google and the email service used for support. Providers may process information in countries other than yours under their applicable terms and safeguards. We may disclose information when required by law or to address fraud, abuse or security issues.
We use the app's and providers' available security controls, but no system can guarantee absolute security.
Children and changes
Grandmind is intended for a general audience, especially adults and older people, and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly seek personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and address it.
We may update this policy when the app or its data practices change. The effective date at the top identifies this version. We will provide any additional notice or choice required by applicable law.
